Why preparing for your Psychometric test works:

Why should I prepare for a psychometric test or assessment centre?

The preparation will improve your scores in a psychometric test and help you to pass the assessment centre. Think of it as being similar to the effort you put into resume preparation, it’s an investment in your career.

If I only have one or two days before taking the psychometric test or assessment centre, will the training help?
Yes, if you are a quick learner one day of training should be sufficient. However having more practice time is a good idea. So if you are invited to take a psychometric test and have only one day to prepare, you may wish to check out the option of postponing the testing. In general, employers don’t view postponement negatively.

Shouldn’t the employer see me for who I am?

The training we offer doesn’t change your personality or your characteristics. Our training will help you to emphasise your strengths and reduce the chance that facing an unfamiliar psychometric test or assessment centre will impair your ability to demonstrate your true capabilities.

What’s the difference between just taking a psychometric test and what the Institute of Psychometric Coaching (IPC) offers?

Our four main differences are:

We provide a full preparation service for your psychometric test – we offer online courses, online practice tests and coaching with one of our occupational psychologists who can provide guidance on how to emphasise your strengths in your real psychometric test.

We provide customised tests for each profession, and personalised reports highlighting strengths and weaknesses. These reports also include practical recommendations to help you maximise your potential in your real psychometric test

We don’t just offer you a list of right and wrong answers! We provide detailed answer explanations for each test question. Reading these explanations is a critical component of your preparation. It will allow you to quickly and effectively approach similar questions in your real test.

We also offer one-on-one coaching with our experienced occupational psychologists. In a coaching session the psychologist will work with you on the key criteria used to assess your suitability for the role you are applying for, interpret how employers are likely to asses your suitability (based on the practice tests you have completed) and guide you on how to ensure you demonstrate your full potential in your real psychometric test.

Will I understand what is written in your reports?

All our test reports and guides are written in simple, straightforward language, so you will understand your test results, their implications, and what you should work on improving.

Would my employer know about my training with IPC?
